Encouraging Calm in Creativity

This week I hosted a couple of pumpkin painting workshops, the pumpkins were ceramic and for people to keep for many years to come. In a throwaway world, I thought it would be nice to lean into the Autumnal season and give people the space to create something that won’t rot and with no mess. Or at least less mess than pumpkin carving.

The sessions were super relaxed, friends coming together for a bit of a natter with cups of tea and snacks and plenty of time to just be immersed in creativity. Everyone was experimenting with colour and patterns to create their own unique pumpkin.

what I loved most about it was how simple it felt. Creativity doesn’t need to be big or bold. It’s about slowing down, enjoying the process and making something that makes you smile.
